Flower Spotting

Flower spotting is the perfect activity for this time of year, the sun is out and the flowers are in full bloom, it’s time to get your little ones outdoors for a spot of exploring! This activity can be easily adapted to your time, and local environment. I used to work in a children’s centre teaching under five’s, this was an activity that I would annually carry out. My class always really enjoyed this and would learn a thing or two in the process! Below I will outline the main principles of this activity alongside possible adaptations that work for you and your child.

Is the Obesity Epidemic Only an American Problem?

“What’s that accent?” the host of the hilarious British TV show about cars Top Gear asked a beautiful blond woman, who happened to be a member of the public. “American”, she giggled nervously, clearly expecting a nasty comment. It came in the form of, “No… You’re not fat enough to be American!” The message is clear. The United States have the reputation of being the fattest nation of them all. When we Europeans think about America, obesity has got to be one of the first images that pop into our heads.
