However, in order to make it effective, care should be taken to ensure that not only is the child looked after in every way but that finally his educational level should be at par, if not better, than normal schooling.
While determining home schooling budget, it is not just the financial aspect which is taken into account but physical, emotional, and psychological needs also need to be borne in mind. Some of the ways in which this expenditure can be economized upon are discussed as follows:

In this way, apart from the theoretical aspect, the child would be cognizant with the practical side as well.
- At the time of preparing a list, the child’s most important requirements should be accorded the topmost priority and the accessories can be bought later. Being aware of the budgetary constraints and balancing the financial aspect without compromising on the quality of education are other concerns which help to keep the expenses in check.
- Taking up the membership of a homeschooling community in the area can help with cutting down on expenses as such communities operate by pooling financial resources and encourage sharing amongst members. They also offer support and guidance through their forums and an added advantage is the higher bargaining power when negotiating with a publisher – a community stands a better chance of getting a bulk discount as compared to an individual.
