7 Thrifty Gift Ideas for Teachers

When the end of the school year rolls around your child may want to get their favorite teacher a small gift. You do not have to spend alot to do this just look over the following ideas and pick one that fits your family and your budget.
1. A small plant - You can leave it in the container it comes in or put it in a pot you already have. Another easy idea is to let your child decorate a small clay pot to put the flower in.
2. Thank You Card - Let the child make a construction paper Thank You Card. They can decorate the card and write something inside. If the child can't spell good you can ask them what they would like to say and you write it down and they can copy it.
3. Snacks - A small brown lunch bag decorated by the child to hold a few snacks you know the teacher enjoys. Some examples are raisins, granola bars, favorite chips or candybar, popcorn.
4. School Supplies - A plastic shoebox that you have put some school supplies in that the teacher can use in the coming year such as glue, crayons, pencils, markers, stickers and anything else you can think of that will fit in the box. You can buy these supplies at the beginning of the year when they are on sale and put them back for your end of the year gift.
5. Pencil Bundle - Buy a package of pencils and take them out of the pack and tie with a pretty ribbon. You can add a tag to the ribbon thanking the teacher for her hard work all year long.
6. Cookies - Your child will love helping you make tasty cookies for the teacher. You can buy the slice and bake kind if you don't have time to bake from scratch.
7. Book - Give the teacher a story book that her students will love. You can find books at thirft stores and yard sales that look as if they have never been opened.
